CARMEN D'ACCRISCIO
Scientific Striking & MMA Coach
Carmen (Coach “Carm”) is the Striking and MMA Coach of Scientific Wrestling Canada. He has been training in a variety of martial arts since 1994 which included Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Scientific Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing and MMA.
Carmen’s martial arts journey has allowed him to travel throughout North America training in world-class MMA clubs, and elite programs. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a former competitor and creator of the Scientific Striking program.
Carmen has earned the official Catch Wrestling rank of ‘Assistant Coach’ and is certified in the Scientific (Catch) Wrestling curriculum under Head Coach Jake Shannon. Carmen continues to earn his way toward ‘Full Coach’, and ranking in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu under Elite Coach and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Jesse Marez.
Carmen is the MMA and Striking Coach, along with coordinating the fight team activities at Scientific Wrestling Canada.
MARCO CARBONE
Catch Wrestling Coach
Marco (Coach “Bones”) is the Catch Wrestling and Hybrid Grappling Coach at Scientific Wrestling Canada. He has been actively training in a variety of martial arts since 1998 that included Karate, BJJ, Boxing, MMA, Kung-Fu, Scientific Striking (under Coach Carm) since 1999 and Scientific (Catch) Wrestling.
Marco is certified in defensive tactics / use of force, and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (Gracie Survival Tactics Level I & II) Instructor. Marco has utilized his diverse martial arts skills and experience in numerous self-defense applications while safely resolving high-risk situations.
Marco has earned the official Catch Wrestling rank of ‘Assistant Coach’ and is certified in the Scientific Wrestling curriculum under Head Coach Jake Shannon. Marco continues to train Catch Wrestling and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu under Elite Coach and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Jesse Marez.
Marco is the Catch Wrestling Coach, along with coordinating Club Wrestling activities.
JORDAN STEEN
Olympic Wrestling Coach
Coach Jordan is the head Wrestling Coach for Scientific Wrestling Canada. Jordan joined the Canadian National Wrestling Team in 2011
He became the (97Kg) National Champion in 2016 until retiring in 2022. Jordan made the Canadian Olympic Team in 2022 and competed in Japan 2021.
Here are some of his major accomplishments:
- Bronze Medal at the Commonwealth Games
- Gold Medal Francophone Games
- 5th at the PanAm Games
- 7th at the University World Games
- Ranked 8th in the world at 97Kg
After retiring from Team Canada, Jordan chose to work exclusively with Scientific Wrestling Canada and provides world class Olympic Wrestling to our program.
Jordan also trains under Coach Jesse in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
Coach Jordan is the Head Wrestling Coach at Scientific Wrestling for our Club Wrestling team.
ADAM KARPENKO
BJJ Black Belt Coach
Coach Adam Karpenko is a black belt in Machado (Jean Jacques) Jiu-Jitsu. Adam is a certified Use of Force and Defensive Tactics instructor with 15+ years as a BJJ practitioner. Adam is the lead BJJ instructor at Scientific Wrestling.
